Artist Respite + Residency

Artist Respite + Residency at Camp Colton

A Space To Share (S2S) Program by Stelo Arts

Applications are now closed

Calling all artists, writers, musicians, and creatives of any practice—Camp Colton is opening up our retreat space for up to 10 days.

This respite is designed to be self-directed and open-ended—no structured programming, just time for you to rest and create at your own pace, with no expectations of certain outcomes. Use nature as a channel to reconnect with your creative work and see what unfolds.

Your stay will include your own rustic lodging (one of our rooms, yurts, or cabins) with linens + towels, access to communal space and kitchen in River Falls Lodge, the Gazebo, and all of our trails.

Camp Colton has gravel roads and pathways, which may be challenging for some mobility devices. If you have specific access needs, please reach out so we can discuss accommodations. Our accommodations include wheelchair-accessible cabin rooms with shared bathrooms and a shared kitchen. The yurts and two private units with kitchens and bathrooms are not wheelchair-accessible or suitable for those who have difficulty with stairs. If you have access needs, please reach out so we can ensure a comfortable stay.

Our Space to Share (S2S) program embodies our commitment to resource sharing by making our spaces accessible to mission-aligned organizations, communities, and individuals with minimal oversight and support. By offering our facilities during unreserved times on our calendar, we aim to create opportunities for supportive and restorative experiences.

Participants will be selected on a first-come first-served basis until spots are filled. We recognized that this program may not support folks who have work, family, or other responsibilities that require advance planning, and we acknowledge the limitations of offering this opportunity on short notice. S2S is not merit- or need-based; rather, it is one of many ways we make our resources more widely available. We continue to develop additional programs to better serve a range of needs and commitments.

If you or someone you know is an artist who would benefit from connecting with nature + staying in our cozy lodgings for up to a week, we invite you to apply for a fully subsidized stay out at Camp Colton!
