FAQs

  • Camp generally has excellent (3-4 bar) ATT and Verizon cellular coverage, both 4G and 5G.

  • We have dedicated high-speed WiFi at the Gathering Hall for events and in and around River Falls Lodge. It is not recommended to try to use it in the cabins or general grounds. We do have mobile hotspots we can make available for an additional charge.

  • Our pond is stocked with sterilized farm-hatched female Rainbow Trout. They are easy to catch, and you are welcome either to catch and release them with barbless or de-barbed hooks, or catch and eat one or two of them during your stay. Please take care not to hurt the fish or other wild Camp inhabitants, including not throwing stones or other items into the water.

  • Westside camping is the area behind the reception hall, with a portable fire pit. Firewood is supplied.

Policies

    • Do not disturb wild animals. Camp Colton is not responsible, and will hold no liability for injury or damages to personal property caused by wildlife on the premises.

    • All guests are subject to Camp Colton policies while onsite. Client assumes full responsibility for the conduct of, and/or damages or loss caused by guests, participants, vendors/employees, or any other person associated with their event, per terms of facility license agreement. Young children must be under adult supervision at all times. Client is responsible for unattended children, and their actions. Camp will not be held liable for any injuries or damage to personal property caused by unattended children.

    • Please respect the property and do not disturb the natural surroundings. No walking or standing off trails and paths. No climbing on any plant material or building structures. Do not gather foliage for decor. Any disturbance to structures, animals, plants, plant material, ground cover, or any other aspect of nature will result in additional fees & possible loss of security deposit.

    • Parking in approved areas is provided free of charge. However, Camp Colton is not responsible for, and will not be held liable for any damages or theft that may occur.

    • Client is responsible for any injury or damages caused by their pets, and/or the pets of their guests & vendors. Camp Colton holds no liability for any injury or property damaged by the pets of clients, guests, or vendors.

    • All pets must be attended to, or properly secured, at all times. Do not allow dogs to run in packs.

    • Owner is responsible to pick up and dispose of any pet waste occurring on Camp Colton premises.

    • No pets are allowed inside any buildings, except for certified service animals.

    • We rent all of our accommodations through HipCamp. Clients who wish to rent one or more of these accommodations may do so on HipCamp if available.

    • Smoking is allowed in designated areas only. Designated areas will be clearly marked with a sign, & an ashtray will be present.

    • Due to the threat of fire and litter contamination, smoking in unauthorized areas may result in fees deducted from security deposit.

    • Excessive litter, (cigarette butts), in unauthorized areas will result in additional clean up fees.

    • Campfires are permitted with overnight accommodation packages in designated areas and with adult supervision only.

    • During times of high forest fire risk, burn bans may be in effect.  Camp Colton follows the recommendations and restrictions mandated by state and local authorities, and is unable to make exceptions to these rules.

    • Firewood is provided in designated areas when permitted.

    • Wood fires may be replaced with propane fire pits, depending on fire risk level and availability.

    • Alcoholic beverages are allowed at Camp Colton when served by a licensed bartender (provided by Camp Colton as part of all wedding packages).

    • Beer, wine and champagne may be served.

    • Hard liquor may only be included if you choose to serve a signature cocktail, which must be provided to our bartenders pre-mixed and ready to pour.

    • Your event insurance must include host liquor liability protection (see “Insurance,” below).

    • Bartenders will offer last call  1-2 hours prior to the end of your event to support sober exits for your guests.

    • No amplified sound is allowed outdoors after 10pm.

    • Excessive noise in camping areas is not allowed after hours.

    • Failure to adhere to noise policy, or requests by Camp Colton staff to lower volumes may result in fees deducted from deposits.
